Shank
Hall. The great hall of music in Milwaukee. Made famous in the classic
move "Spinal Tap", Shank is equipped with one of the best
sounding pa system and room combos I have ever played through. I also
really love the intimate feeling of the shows at Shank. It seems at
times almost like you are up on stage with the band you are there to
see.
This was our second time at Shank Hall as a group, and it was notable
for a few different reasons: First of all, we had yet another chance
to play with Wookiefoot from Minneapolis. Even though we played with
them at the Rave a few months back, I was blown away tonight by their
energy on stage, and also how they meld many musical styles together
and end up with very danceable, groovy, exciting rock music. Also making
this show cool, was the return of prodigal guitarist Jim Kiley. Sean
had some personal business to attend to, so on short notice, Jim (our
founding guitarist) stepped in and played tonight's show with us. It
was very cool getting a chance to play with Jim again, as he has always
been one of my favorite guitar players.
We have a couple more big shows in town this month, and we are even
going to get out of town a bit, too. Stay tuned to WUGC for more details!!
Later, potaters.
