Cough,
Cough. I don't feel too well.
I have been wrestling with this cold for the last week, and it is pretty
much kicking my ass. Even though I love what I do, playing a bunch of
rock shows is not always the best thing to cure a cold. We played last
night at the Up and Under, and I had to get up early today, and then
drive to Green Bay this afternoon. When you mix a chest cold, a smokey
nightclub, not much sleep, a long drive, and cold and snowy weather,
you pretty much end up with a drummer with a very sore throat, no singing
voice, and not a lot left in the reserve tanks for a great show. OK,
enough of my whining. Despite all that, I felt pretty good about how
we played tonight. The folks at IQ's always take pretty good care of
us, and we were able to hang out with the lovely Miss Frances and her
friends, which is always a rocking time. We are finally playing as tight
musical unit, and playing all the shows we have this year in support
of this album has really put us all in tune with each other. Sean has
been with us over a year, and is as full fledged as a member of the
group can be. Also, we have a ton of exciting opportunities coming up
for 2004 that I can't wait for.
We have one more show next week in Milwaukee, and then we are going
to take the holidays and most of January off to write new tunes and
get geared up for a strong showing in the new year. I hope all of you
have a great holiday season, and I hope to see you all soon!
I would hug and kiss you all but I don't want you to catch my cold.
Peace and love,
Brian
